Alway Good
After reading Chad's blog that discussed the meaning behind each of these songs, and then listening to all of them in full, I can feel the deeper meaning and emotion behind all of these songs. Chad always puts his heart and soul into his music, and that is very evident in this EP as well. Great work!
I like it.
I like it. I don't love it. I've heard Chad Sugg do much better work than this EP. His lyrics are usually much more enticing and verses are usually packed tight with them, not drawn out and repeated. The last track "On My Way" seems unnecessary and seems like an outro that overstays its welcome. Hoping a full length comes along soon and hits a little closer to the Backseat Goodbye days.
Different than Backseat Goodbye
Chad Sugg has definitely matured and grown as an artist. It's much different from Backseat Goodbye stuff (his other project). The same Chad is still there, though… acoustic style, likable arrangements, stuff you want to clap and dance around to. I have to agree that the lyrics aren't as good as his previous stuff, but I do recommend this EP. It's a little more laid back and dream-like than some of his other stuff. I would compare some of his vocals on this EP to Matt Nathanson.
Chad is vlogging now, and I think the way he connects with his fans is wonderful. I'm 100 times more likely to buy something from someone who makes an effort to connect with their fans. Congrats Chad from a long time fan, and everyone - check out this album. If you're looking to download a track, I would go with "Oh Yeah" and take it from there.
