My favorite songs on this album are "Brighter Day," "Free," "Better," and "Sons and Daughters." "R.I.F." is clever. Awesome collaborations. Can't wait to hear what's next with Illus. Make this album a part of your summer rotation.
Illus - For Adam
So you know where I'm coming from....I'm 39 years old & grew up on PE, Run DMC, BDP, LL, PRT, Tribe, Gang Starr, Beastie Boys, etc....A few current artists I like are Kweli, DL Incognito, Kam Moye, Akrobatik, Brother Ali, Boom Bap Project, etc....
Illus is a real cat. His music is about the upliftment of humanity and awakening the fighting human spirit that resides within all of us. He sees the bigger picture of life, and writes music not only relevant for today, but also for the kids and their future.
JJ Brown, producer, laid some very clean, fresh & funky beats.
Very good album.

Incredible album! Honest, passionate and heartfelt HIPHOP at its best.
ILLUS has taken his music to the next level. For Adam is an incredibly passionate and heartfelt album with hard-hitting lyrics and beats to match. Never mind all of the great guests and collaborations, Illus brings true originality and freshness to HipHop with a unique voice and style all his own and he is complimented by legendary emcees as well as young stars on the rise. There is not one track to skip. Every song is dope and meaningful and is a unique breath of fresh air. Illus has been rocking the underground for years and it is about time he gets the props he deserves especially when he just continues to get better and better with every project.
If you are a fan of any of the guests or enjoy music by artists like Atmosphere, Brother Ali or Fashawn...you will love this album. I highly recommend this project as well as his other releases to anyone that loves HipHop and good music in general.
