Atmospheric, Ukrainian Black Metal.
This is Drudkh's first album, which was released in 2003, but has since been carefully re-mastered and distributed under a new label. I believe this is the re-issued version. I'm not sure it even needed to be re-mastered in the first place, but it's not my music. I'm sure nothing was lost in the process.
Drudkh is comprised of members of Hate Forest and Astrofaes (both also Ukrainian black metal bands). This particular album evokes melancholy, nature and a sense of atmosphere that pulls you into your head. Close your eyes and listen to this in the dark. The minimalist riffs and repetition do not become tiresome, and only add to the drone-like quality of this album. The first track starts with a lonely animal's cry, and the last track ends with the sound of rain and thunder. Everything in between is in the same vein as those naturally produced sounds, but is somehow expressed through instruments. A marvelous experience.
Keep your eyes out for Drudkh's follow up album Autumn Aurora. Drudkh employ subtle synthesizers, and expand upon what they started with on Forgotten Legends.

This is a great album, but $9.99 for 4 songs, is a f***ing rip off.
