NEW SONGS from Franco & Sterns!!

About half of the songs on this CD are not on other recordings available via iTunes or on otherwise IN NORTH AMERICA. Some of the new (unreleased) tunes are GEMS, like Likambo Ya Ngana, Infidelite Mado, Tozonga Na Nganga, Annie Ngai Nalinga, and Cherie Bondowe. Or try some other unreleased up-tempo tunes like Marie Naboyi, Lisolo Ya Adamo Na Nzambe or Bolingo Ya Bougie, you won't be disappointed. BTW, Vol. 2 is in the works and I can't wait to hear what will be included.

Love this music!

My son Brian does research in Tanzania. He introduced me to the music of Franco and I have really enjoyed listening to the songs. I especially like the song Likambo Ya Ngana. I love all varieties of music and this album is a real find!

I have the physical release of this wonderful collection, which has a booklet chock full of great photos and information, but the music. . . it's sublime. This is a fantastic selection of timeless music from Congo's musical genius, pristine recordings from Franco's formative years, when he helped define Africa's most influential music.

Also an accomplished composer and vocalist, Francois Luambo Makiadi remains a towering figure even in death, probably the greatest the Congo (later Zaire) has ever produced, and as the leader of the long-running O.K. Jazz group, he was one of the fathers...
