Good Debut album

This CD was refreshing. Some other people may rate Frank low because it wasn't like Back to Black. It wasn't meant to be. Back to Black was Catchy and in many ways more pop. Frank, on the other hand, is more about quality jazz. You gotta have a good taste to understand that jazz doesn't always shoot to be catchy. It's made to display improvisational skills by the artists. It strays away from familiar pop territory in the beats and melodies which make it unique. Winehouse did an amazing job in making the album with jazz but also with an eclectic mix of other types of musical genres. She still manages to convey honesty of her experiences (both good and bad). Perhaps it points to why the album is called Frank. Let's see Britney Spears or other pop divas try to co-write, play guitar, and sing all the various styles that Winehouse manages to cover in her first album. Then you'll understand why she is so great in this first album. And she released originally around 20 years old.

Excellent album.Was worthy of a Grammy.I guess Americans are a little late sometimes.We must catch up musically .

Amy, You are a Star!!!!

I heard about this album a few years ago, but slept on it and boy did I play myself! This album shines! Classic material!!! This girl, with all her other life issues, is a talent to be recognized!!! I love it!! "Brother", "October Song", "Stronger than Me" and most def, "F-me Pumps"!!! Get it! Don't sleep!!!!
