Album Review

Since his debut in 1996, Sizzla's positive lyrics and strong delivery have earned him a place alongside the handful of best-selling conscious DJs — Tony Rebel, Cocoa Tea and Buju Banton. Freedom Cry, his sophomore effort, reaffirms his position with booming vocals and bass-heavy rhythms that combine a hip-rolling dancehall style with soothing roots melodies. "Real," the opening track, introduces catchy lyrics and beats that flow throughout the album, from the bounciness of "Rain Shower" to the smooth harmonies of "Saturated" and the title song. This album definitely indicates that great things are bound to come from Sizzla.
