Pop Gems from an Austin legend
An excellent offering from a band about to make-it or break-it (they broke). Austin's own Javelin Boot was together for 20+ years, and had fun together. This album does the best at capturing the fun of a live concert: great pop tunes that don't get in the way of unadulterated fun. Crisp harmonies (singing wasn't usually their best suit, but herein it is good), sharp, singing guitars and perfect rhythm section speed you down a pathway filled with happy times, wistful nostalgia and some heartbreak. Check out 'It's All You' for a Brian Wilson-inspired pop gem. 'Radio Flyer' will play over & over again with it's whimsical nod to youth. 'Jiffy' is an ode to a young daughter that will simultaneously lift you up & make you cry. Give it a listen!
