Okay but not Smashing Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins were one of if not THE greatest rock band of the 90's but this is not the Smashing Pumpkins this is Billy and Jimmy in a new band. SuperChrist isn't bad but it isn't really the anything different from anything else they have ever made. Smashing Pumpkins were big because they were so different than everything else that was coming out at the time. Mellon Collie, Adore, and Machina were all so different than everything else out and everything else they had ever made before. Now Smashing Pumpkins is almost recycling old stuff and just making new songs. I really hate the idea that Billy Corgan has brought back Smashing Pumpkins with only Jimmy, I mean this could be ZWAN because if I remember correctly Jimmy teamed up with Billy in that band too. Until Iha and Darcy (or I'd even taken Melissa) join back up, this is NOT Smashing Pumpkins! So I give this a 1 on principle alone.

Ignorance

all of you out there saying this isn't the Smashing Pumpkins should think for a minute. Though D'Arcy and James were in the band they contributed almost nothing to the songwriting. Billy Corgan from the beggining has written and recorded the parts for all instruments except for drums. So we might as well call the Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin

Can you feel it?

What more can I say, G.L.O.W. kicks tail. Amazing riff, I love the vocal arrangments as well, this song just quitely seeps into you, before you know it you won't be able to get it out your head. SuperChrist is a completly different track in that it belongs with the Zeitgeist material and for the most part it's an instruMental. Very dark, once again cool riff and great work on the drums. The Pumpkins did it again. Buy this 45, you won't be disapointed.

Biography

Formed: 1988 in Chicago, IL

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

Of all the major alternative rock bands of the early '90s, Smashing Pumpkins were the group least influenced by traditional underground rock. Lead guitarist/songwriter Billy Corgan fashioned an amalgam of progressive rock, heavy metal, goth rock, psychedelia, and dream pop, creating a layered, powerful sound driven by swirling, distorted guitars. Corgan was wise enough to exploit his angst-ridden lyrics, yet he never shied away from rock star posturing, even if he did cloak it in allegedly ironic...
