Dramatic... Yet Beautiful...

In short, this album is amazing. In the long form, this isn't everyone's cup of tea, especially if you're into a more "simple" style in music. This music mixes a guitar, bass, drum programming, and a synthesizer that plays the sounds of a violin, pipe organ, and any other string instrument you may find in an orchestra. Along with that, he plays it all at once, creating a dramatic, and in my opinion, awesome mixture of sound to make his message more dramatic. Oh, and about the messages, the artist does not take them literally, and nor should you. What he does in most of his music is expresses the side he disagrees with in the most horrendous way possible. A good example of this is in the Mirrorthrone song, "A Scream to Express the Hate of a Race" (Not on this album, its on Carriers of the Dust, which is a good album too!). In A Scream to Express the Hate of a Race, he sings about how we create genocide, and kill each other, BUT, the meaning of that song is to tell us that Nihilism is the thing that truly kills us, and that it is useless to kill each other, because it solves nothing, but give the buzzards a meal. With that said, if you take all of the Mirrorthrone songs that way, it is actually quite inspiring. Now then, my personal favorite song on this album is, "The Fecal Rebellion". He just, in my opinion, perfectly captures the drama of the fact that all people eat their food, without even thinking that it was their feces that helped grow the grains that they now eat. The thing that got me at first though, is Vladimir's singing. He doesn't sing in a constant flow, rather, he sings at various speeds, chopping quickly through syllables at times, and slowly wandering through them at seemingly odd times. I found that the reason he sings that way is, once again, to increase the drama of his music. To close off this review, this is one heck of an album. But also, this isn't everyone's cup of tea, as it is a bunch of sounds from metal bands, and orchestras, all mixed into a fast paced tune to express the message. But if this is indeed your cup of tea... Buy the album. The whole album.

Absolutely amazing

This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Extreme symphonic metal at its finest. I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of black metal, as this takes the sub genre and elevates it to a whole new level.

Wonderful

Dismay and no one by my side are my personal favorites
