The hits keep comin'...

For the sake of keeping it brief, this ep is a huge step up from This Is Animal Music, which was my end all be all favorite album of 2007. Taking a huge chunk of what made those tunes great, and adding more, this ep comes out with 4 songs that are incredibly well rounded, and at fear of sounding cliche, more mature. Other reviewers are going to be hard pressed to site the same comparisons as they have with past Look Mexico jamz. This is not just hyperbole, the only weak element about this is that it leaves you wanting more. -Colin

You feel like summer to me

I disagree with the anachronistic musical placement in reviews that this band gets. Many couple them with vintage emo bands such as American Football or Joan of Arc; however, I see this EP, as well as the artist, as a contemporary indie band that might have hints of Looking Glass, or Minus the Bear, or even American Football, but they have their own appeal as well. Aesthetically pleasing chords changes and breezy, mathematical finger tapping make me want to dive into a pool and drink margaritas all day long. In short, you feel like summer to me, Look Mexico. I miss this band, and this EP is brilliant as usual.

They started writing songs, and in early 2004 decided to really get a band up and running together. Searching for members to round them out, they eventually hooked up with drummer Josh Mikel; Look Mexico booked their first show in October 2004 (playing with Karate, no less), even...
