Geoff Smith and the Tonewheels
I am impressed with the fact that, both vocally and instrumentally, Geoff is the sum total of what you are hearing on this project. My other area of praise is that his melody-lines and lyrics are well put together to the point of begging you to sing along. Not On The Radio has that fun, bouncy sound that sticks with you. For a first time out as a recording artist, he has done well and makes me feel there is more and better things to come.
Witty and catchy piano driven pop! Love it!
Geoff's tunes are upbeat and full of great pop hooks. Such a fresh approach to modern music. Geoff also plays all the instruments on this album, and he draws from some obvious influences such as the Beatles, Ben Folds, and Joe Jackson. "Not on the Radio" is both a satirical and hopeful slant on the state of music and media today. Its also pretty darn catchy. Another great piece of work from the guy who has already been taking podcasting audiences by storm.
A Terrific Album for People Who Like Music
THE Geoff Smith really knows how to convey emotions and stories through his music. Accept no imitation. No only is Geoff a great musician, but he's an awesome individual as well. From his podcast anthem, "Not on the Radio," all the way through the hidden track, you'll find yourself tapping your feet and nodding your head while being taken on a musical journey. If you're looking for the perfect Spring/Summer album, look no further.
