Sans Beegie?
This collection is stunningly beautiful and having just recently finding Jack Jezzro, I cannot get enough! The strange thing is there seems to be aduplication of sorts with two cd's entitled "Gershwin on Guitar" but this one gives no credits for Beegie Adair, so I'll assume the piano is a studio player. That said, I have no problem and you save 30 pennies with each selection, and are they great.
"Our Love Is Here To Stay" is arranged withh a tinge of Bucky Pizzarelli with emotion. I have to say that, for me, "Soon" is my choice title. Not as recognizable as most presented here, the strings just pull you in. Finally, "I've Got Rythym" is pure fun to listen to,and again great string backup arrangements! This is 100% Gershwin with a sound that takes you back 40-50 years when GeorgeShearing, Andre' Previn and Peter Nero made beautiful music with a hint of jazz.
