Customer Reviews
Buy it.
Acoustic version of their first album, "Get Equipped". Get Acoustic is excellent and varies enough from the original album to warrant buying without feeling like money was wasted. Lyrics are easier to understand and album includes "The Messasge From Dr. Light" from the remastered album. While acoustic versions of songs can lose something in translation, The Megas' transition to acoustic is superb.
Surprisingly Awesome.
I was skeptical of this band at first. I had listened to the Protomen's albums, and was blown away; I couldn't believe that another band could succeed at putting words to one of the greatest games of all time. After listening to the samples of the original album, it seemed a tad chaotic, didn't like the singer, didn't like the lyrics, etc. I was still curious though, so I downloaded the first track of this acoustic album.
I was blown away. The guitar work is beautiful and the harmonies are gorgeous. The samples honestly don't do it justice. While the lyrics tend to be a tad silly at times, they get stuck in your head instantly. Plus, if you liked The Protomen, this will be breath of fresh air from the dark apocolyptic world they set; while the Megas are making great music, it's obvious that they are being playful.
So, if you like Megaman, The Protomen, or just good music, try out this album.
Great Album!
An amazing work of art! Get Acoustic takes everything great about Get Equiped and makes (most of it) better. They also add in much more. Overall, everything feels more epic and dramatic. But most of all, The Megas include so much energy into this album. The lyrics have been perfected. Everytime I listen, the music gets better. Like what has been said before, Get Acoustic finds its own niche next to Get Equiped. Both are great!
