This release comes from Basslovers United, the Munich-based production team of Kent Base and Shaun Bate, and vocalist Eva. This DJing, producing, remixing duo has delivered a string of tracks that have met with strong success across Europe, including their single Narcotic, which topped the German dance charts, and was a Top 20 hit across Europe.
Now their latest club jammer, Ghetto Supastar, makes its appearance. The song started life as the 1998 international hit from rapper Pras Michel, which reached Top 10 status in the USA, and was a #1 hit in Basslovers United’s home country of Germany. The chorus of the track goes even farther back, having been adapted from the Dolly Parton / Kenny Rogers track Islands in the Stream, which was itself written by the Bee Gees. Now, this bass-loving duo have put their hands on the track, taking it to the next level with their edgy dance floor take!
This release includes not only the guys’ original version, but an incredible hands-up treatment from the renowned DJ Gollum, and a great progressive/electro take from CombiNation.
