2008 Album of the Year
This album, is from start to finish, pure excellence. I'd never heard of this band before seeing then play a 15 minute set in Jacksonville, Florida. In that 15 minutes, they had me. The live show is something like you've probably never seen before, but I digress. From the very simple, very catchy opener, O Shot, you are steering wheel drumming to the beat of a very full sounded drummer lovingly referred to as Puppy Mills. No two songs compare well to another on this cd, but that can't be meant in a more positive way. Ghosts is a roller coaster of rock and roll. There are times that it seems the studio cannot box in the pure emotion that comes from the one they call Clark Westfield. I would list for you the stand out tracks of this album, but that wouldn't be fair. No 2 or 3 songs can represent this band or this album well enough. Please, hear Ghosts in its entirety, then see The Gay Blades live. You will forever be changed. TGB4N indeed.
Impossible to describe how awesome this is without profanity or slurs
Fantastic first record from the hardest rocking two man band in NYC. O Shot is a classic. Be a man and buy it twice.

i saw theses guys open for scott weiland (who showed up 45 minutes late and sucked) and they were amazing! the album is fun and playful but their true energy shows much more clearly in their live show! they are also really cool people and fun to hang out with. buy this album and go see them live!
