Is rock right?

Glad to finially see this album here on iTunes so I can check it out. I have some personal interest in this album because my band is on it as well as one of the bands that is signed to an Independent record label I work for. I do not own this album and am writing this based on the 30 second clips which I know isn't the best way to judge a song. However based on the majority of those clips I'd have to say that the term "rock" in Glory Rock was defined using the simplest definition of the term rock. IMO the majority of the songs are "rock" in a Top 40 kind of way. Not that, that is a bad thing. Its just doesn't suit my taste in music. There are however, IMO, some songs on here that really do rock. Songs that stand out to me are of course "Hypocrite" by my band Hemotheory (and yes the song is spelled incorrectly on this album), "Grenade", "Hope", "The Cycle's Hold", "Angels", "Gloria", "Better Than I", "In Arms We Wait", "I Say", "Blinded Eyes", "Heroes", "Change", "Distal" and "Leap of Faith". Again this is based on a 30 second clip, but if those clips are any indication of the rest of the song, I know they rock. I will say that this album definitely has something for everyone. From the light sounds of piano and/or acoustic based songs, top 40 rock, modern rock and everything else all the way up to a couple of songs (by the same band) that'll rip your heart out and shove it down your throat metal. But you don't have to take my word for it.

Dig Stria?

Stria is my favorite artist on this CD. Check out their debut album on myspace.com/striamusic. Peace and love!
