Back to the essentials...

What makes this album truly great is that Alex goes back to the basics and stays true to his jazz roots. I saw him perform " Silverfinger" live at Blues Alley in DC during the Thanksiving holiday and Alex looked like he was having the time of his life performing and doing something different. Essential piano, drums, and bass with a hint of horns and cooled out tempos... that all you need. Take a good listen to "Another Love Season" and you can begin to understand where Alex has been and where he is now musically. To get a good feel of what I mean, go and buy the original "Love Season" and come back and listen to the version on this album. Just simply good music... I highly recommend that those truly love Alex's music to go and see him perform live as I have over the past 6-7 years.
