Timeless songs freshly interpreted and represented
Joey Curtin once again provides a subtle twist, a snip here, a smattering of indulgence there for a set of timeless tunes spanning over 30 years of Rock history. Going to California is another unique expression, not unlike Peter Gabriel’s newest work, of representing a slice of ground breaking tunes. It’s important to recognize such compositions and keep them before us in fresh encounters. This is not a work of musical resurrection, reviving tunes from their graves, but a project of recasting a living, vibrant body of work from some of the greatest tunes within three decades.
And the organic approach of beautifully and skillfully recorded grand piano is food for the soul. Thanks Joey!
