desert island album

this is a record i wouldn't want to live without ... on a desert island, or more importantly in a car, late at night, after a bad breakup. Do yourself a favor, buy this album and let it sink in - this is one of those albums that will draw you in over time, not something that's maybe most accessable at first listen. The only other record i own that is this raw emotionally and sonically is Either/Or by Elliott Smith. I'll just let that speak for itself.

i think starflyer has been tragically overlooked, probably due to that most unfortunate of pigeon holes "christian." i mean, once someone labels you a 'christian shoegaze' band, how long can your moment in the spotlight possibly last? (negative 30 minutes is my guess). But i'm glad to see this album on iTunes, as well as some of the band's other amazing work, like Silver and Fashion Focus.

Great album, bad master

This rerelease of Starflyer's gold album has been remastered and I have to say I strongly prefer the original gold album. This version seems louder but more tinny and has lost a lot of low end in the process. The power of the original has been compromised and I don't like. I will stick with their 1995 release of this album and I suggest you do too.

He later discovered the Smiths' The Queen Is Dead at the age of 12, and although Christianity continued to play an integral role in his life, Martin's faith didn't prohibit him from delving into...
