Customer Reviews

Powderfinger has reached a new level!

These guys were always a great rock band, but this album is something special. It might not rock as hard as Vulture Street (the one that got me hooked on them) but the songwriting is incredible! If you get a chance, watch the video for Burn Your Name on their site. I always really, really liked their music, but this album makes them one of my favorite bands. Produced by Nick Didia (Neil Young, Pearl Jam) and sounds great. If you haven't heard of them before, go ahead and start here with this one!

Just okay

Powderfinger has always been one of my favorite bands, but this album is the most disappointing so far in their collection. Only on "Poison in Your Mind" and "Stand Yourself" do I really feel like I am listening to the Powderfinger I know and love. "Sail the Wildest Stretch" and "Golden Rule" are solid... but the remaining tracks are a departure that most fans will still appreciate but really left me missing the energy of Odyssey and Vulture.

No words.....

A sound that is so sublime! They have a mix of U2 and Dire Straits, etc. Lyrics are spectacular! Clearly one of the best groups today, every single song they produce is amazing!

They cut their musical teeth performing cover versions of classics by Neil Young (taking their name from one of Young's...
