Absolutely Fantastic...

Truly a fantastic album from Osvaldo Golijov and his musical interpreters. Oceana is a great blend of ethereal orchestrations and choral writing with latin infused melodies and rhythms. A great companion piece for fans of Ainadamar. The performance of Tenebrae by the Kronos quartet is superbly sensitive and impressionistic, wonderfully heartfelt. And Dawn Upshaw's performance of the Three Songs, is as stunningly crystal clear and transcendant as always. A must have for modern art music fans...

STUNNING RELEASE

This is a fantastic release from one of the best composers of today. The combination of styles and textures is just beautiful. The Tenebrae is just amazing.

Golijov = stunning

Osvaldo Golijov never ceases to impress. I would suggest buying a complete work, and not just picking movements... it helps to hear them together and in order with Golijov to fully grasp his message.

Soprano Dawn Upshaw was born July 17, 1960; she first rose to prominence in 1984 after winning the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and was soon invited to join the studio of the Metropolitan Opera. Upshaw's Met exposure quickly allowed her to assume roles, including Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and both Susanna and Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro; in 1986 she made her Salzburg Festival debut in Figaro, returning there often in the years to follow for acclaimed...
