Customer Reviews
A Fantastic Score - "Opening" is gorgeous.
This score was like a breath of fresh air and was a little different from HGW's usual stuff, which I also love. My favorite track here is "Opening". The crescendos/decrescendos of the strings is fantastic, and there is just so much emotion in it. I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that it was reminiscent of Thomas Newman's work, who is one of my favorite composers along with others like Rachel Portman, Alan Silvestri and one of my new personal favorites, Josh Kramer. If you like piano-driven orchestral cues, check out his "Beginnings" album on iTunes. But yeah, Gone Baby Gone was a great movie, and the score is fantastic. Get it!
What the???
Where is the Alexi Murdoch song from the end credits? Cmon
This Baby Hits Home
There are few composers that come to mind that are able to create ORIGINAL pieces of work, and Mr. Williams is one of them. There is one time where in one of the songs, he hits a favorite note used in DEJA VU, but the rest is completely flawless. Even when you read the book with the music playing in the background, it just works because you feel entrenched the Boston neighborhoods. Like a mockingbird, it sings to please us.
