Their Most Honest CD

This is my favorite CD from them because it's so much more raw than all the others, and sounds less "slick" than their newer efforts. Personally I miss hearing all of the weird little noises they make on this record (tiki tiki tiki?). There are songs for everything on here. Definitely get this if you consider yourself a fan of Good Charlotte at all. Even people I know who hate Good Charlotte today used to love them because of this album (and they definitely still listen to it from time to time).

One one hand...

This is one of the most vapid and emotionally self-indulgent recordings I own. At no point does this band effectively communicate any emotion realistically, or display maturity. But man, aren't these songs catchy.

So much better than the crap they put out now

I remember when Good Charlotte first came out with this album as a local band (the guitarist went to the high school I go to now) when I was in 6th grade. Although this album contains pretty simple alternative and punk rock, it has songs that just are fun to listen to and sing along with. It really is a shame that GC sold out and became much more mainstream and emo, cuz they were awesome when they just did straight-up, good, non-trashy alternative rock. Maybe someday they'll realize that and start making good music again. Best songs on this album: "Waldorf Worldwide", "The Motivation Proclamation", "Complicated", and "Let Me Go".

Inspired by a Beastie Boys performance on their 1995 Ill Communication tour, the Maddens enlisted the help of several high school classmates in assembling a band that combined the energetic elements spawned from '70s punk with the sentimental ballads of mainstream corporate rock. Good Charlotte was soon formed, with Joel Madden handling lead vocals and Benji...
