Get Lost...

And not in a bad way. I can remember the exact day I discovered Richard's music. It was at the Saratoga Mountain Winery in California on August 3rd, 2002 -- the night he opened for Norah Jones. I sat in my seat dreading the fact I would have to sit in torture listening to some no-name "artist" before I finally got to enjoy who I actually PAID to see. Instead, what happened, I was treated to the musical stylings of one of the best songwriters I had ever experienced. From the hilarious "Florida" to the darkly humorous "The Wrong Bus", Richard's songs captivated my interest and let my imagination paint a picture in my mind through his story-driven lyrics. In fact, when he finished with his final song "Good Life," I didn't want him to leave the stage. I wanted more. Needless to say, I ultimately purchased all three of his CDs. Since that night, I've seen Richard perform live each time he's visited the San Francisco Bay Area (for a total of five times) and he just keeps getting better. His new album is coming out in January 2006 and the first single "Slow New York" is already available for download off iTunes. For anyone that just wants to get lost for a little while, this is the perfect album to listen to on the couch with your eyes closed. Good luck, Richard, and please don't forget about us little fans when you make it big.
