SWEEEEEEET
Basically this album has been in my car since I bought it, and I don't think I'll ever take it out. Original lyrics, awesome instrumentation, and incredible talent. Every song on the album is worth repeating over and over and over and over and over and over...
wow -- very impressive
I ran across these guys at a free open-air concert and was mesmerized...wow, very impressive talent. To my taste their music is in the style of the Shins and Wilco, but so young and unpretentious (a downer of earlier Wilco IMHO) with such great optimism in the lyrics and chord progressions. I'm stoked. I'm listening to "Lovers Past" on repeat and it doesn't get old for me... great lyrics, great musicality, great matter-of-fact optimism (as opposed to the cultish optimism of the Polyphonic Spree). You've gotta love it... Don't know who these kids are, but I certainly like their stuff.
A very solid album!
I'm not a family member, street-teamer, or even a very loyal fan of GMM - just a critical listener... This is a great album! The songwriting is orginal and fresh, the production is very nice, and the performances are solid. My only complaint is the cover art...a little cheezy (but i dig the loafers). This is definitely an album I would recommend to anyone interested in great independent music. These guys are a perfect example of what makes up the under-appreciated music scene in Utah.
