Album Review

Gravity's Rainbow marked Pat Benatar's return to arena rock after the dismal failure of her blues album True Love. While it well-produced and carefully constructed, the album failed to capture an audience. Although she had returned to the sound that made her famous, both radio and the record-buying public had lost interest and the album slipped off the charts shortly after its release.

The Best Pat Benatar CD That You Never Heard!

This disk was made as Pat fell away from the public eye yet it is one of her best, rocking albums. With songs like "Everybody Lay Down," "Crazy" and "Tradin' Down" Pat shows why she was one of the first ladies of rock in the 80's. A "must buy" for Benatar fans and those in this generation that are interested in why she was so great. It's a shame this came out following the flop of her prior album "True Love."

Hidden Diamond

This is by far the best Pat Benatar album. It has had little publicity because people ignored Pat after her terrible attempt at a swing album. "Everybody Lay Down" is so fun and makes me want to sing. "Somebody's Baby" is a masterpiece. "Crazy" is crazy. "Everytime I Fall Back" is a beautiful love song. "Rise (Part 2)" is a jazzy piece that gets me singing along every time.
I just listed my favourites, but there are several great songs on this one. Don't skip this album because of its lack of popularity.

Pat Benatar's polished mainstream pop/rock made her one of the more popular female vocalists of the early '80s. Born Patricia Andrzejewski on January 10, 1953, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, the singer was raised in the nearby town of Lindenhurst on Long Island, NY. Benatar began singing regularly in the New York City area by the '70s, where...
