Classic Gould
This album is Gould at his best, and an excellent recording. His precision playing, and his rendering of ornaments and trills, are especially enjoyable to listen to.
Like the songs
I really enjoy the way Gould plays the Bach pieces; the way he gives his own literal twist on ornamentation is delightful to listen to. What an enjoyable album to listen to on peaceful evenings! However, I did not give this five stars because when downloading the album, the twelfth track - one from Partita No. 2 - would not and still will not download correctly. I have checked the iTunes store for available downloads repeatedly, and every time a window comes up on iTunes saying that an error occurred, and that "Partita No. 2 in C minor..." was a corrupted file and that I should check for available downloads later. I have done that multiple times with the same result; the song file has been paid for and will not be downloaded. I will continue to check, but if nothing new comes of it, I will have to leave this rating at only three stars.
