Masterful Funeral Doom

This album will go down in history as not only one of the best doom opuses ever recorded, but also one of the most expensive. For $34 US dollars, even Nortt himself was upset by this price. The music consists of piano notes, with hazy and distorted guitars wailing in the backround, complimented by a tormented scream. This album is not for the feint of heart, and takes alot of warming up to, but once you like it, there's no turning back.

Great

I just recently heard about Nortt. It is a one man Black Ambient/Funeral Doom project of (same name as the band) Nortt. Although he looks like most Black Metal musicians (corpsepaint, spikes, etc.) the sound is more of a Funeral Doom/Black Ambient sound. If you are someone who is into Burzum, Velvet Cacoon, or Xasthur you will most likely start to like Nortt as well. If you are into some of the cleaner Black Metal like Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, or Graveworm you might not like this. Now i listen to all of what i just mentioned so this doesnt bother me at all. I reccomend this to fans of Black Metal and Doom Metal.

The soundtrack to your death

When I heard a sample of this, I just had to have it. I have some Dark Ambient, such as Rasion d' Etre, Victim's Shudder, and Raven's Bane. Not since I heard Skepticism's Lead and Aether have I heard such dreariness and misery. Endless pale winters and thunderstorms come into mind whenever I play this album (and it's great for when you're in a romancing mood). I mean, this is Funeral Doom at its best and not for the faint of heart (or the suicidal at least).
