Dufay
I would recomend this C.D. to any person studying music, or familiar with music history and the signifigance of Dufay's motet "nuper rosarum flores". The Sopranos in this selection possess an excellent quality wich is consistant throughout the entire album. At times the instruments come through a bit too much wich is not consitant with the period, however, this is not distracting enough to take away from the beauty of the works. I would recommend this C.D. to all who love music of the Rennisaunce period.
instruments are mixed too loud
beautiful recording and performances, but the tenor horns are entirely too loud, quite distracting.
Quite wonderful recordings
This album is really splendid. If anyone thinks that this music was purely vocal in nature, they should be convinced by this recording. In searching for literature to do with my own choirs, I often find myself uninspired by recordings at times, and this one is great. The tone production of the choir is gorgeous, and doesn't sound forced or overblown.
What a great recording.
