Stellar

The DFA has really found a wonderful niche with their recent take on gay disco house. The Juan Maclean is back with a vengence leading up to his new full length set to drop later this year. If this single is any indication of what is to come, we're in for a special danceable treat. To clarify, I paid 3.99 for this EP and not 9.99 as mentioned in earlier reviews.

The spring single

I just walked 40 blocks down Manhattan on the first beautiful spring night with HH on repeat. I haven't felt so much joy in some time. This record puts a massive smile on your face. I liked the majority of the first TJM album a lot. But this is sublime. Very excited for the album. Nancy Wang brings it. What is it that is so loveable about her. I swear when she throws out "get innocuous" on the LCD album, the thing explodes. Nancy, make a record of your own with TJM and LCD and anyone else. We need you.

I love it when the acid kicks in!

It's hard not to be compared with the greatness of LCD Soundsystem when you're on the DFA label. But, with releases like this Juan MacLean keep getting better and better and definitely aren't in anybody's shadow. A brilliant house track which takes me back to my youth - I love it when the acid kicks in!

By the time they went to record their final album, 1998's Law of Ruins, Krautrock also began to play a major...
