These Boys are Great!
Whenever I met these guys at reenactments like Gettysburg or New Market or Stanardsville, they are always up beat and willing to play any song they know for you! Check out WAITING FOR THE FEDERALS! Great tune! Their live show is as good as their studio stuff! And they always pack in a goodly crowd wherever they are! I'm glad the Boys from GODS AND GENERALS is dedicated to the circuit and to making reenactors feel at home! Thanks, Guys! George
Blast from the past!
I am a Union Civil War re-enactress, and had the chance to see the 2nd South Carolina String Band at Cedar Creek Battle Re-enactment in Middletown VA. These guys are incredible! I have never heard Civil War period-correct music played so dead on accurate - these guys are the sharpshooters of this kind of music! In the true fashion of the Union Army, a salute to the 2nd South Carolina String Band: Hip Hip Huzzah! Hip Hip Huzzah! Hip Hip Huzzah! And a five star rating!
Another Great Album!!!!!!
This album is also a good one. I didn't think they could make one as good as the first but they did! I am a Union and Confederate reenactor of 17yrs and I have yet to see them live. I hope to see them at a reenactment soon.
