After hearing a sneak peek of music from Pamela's forthcoming EP, "Hawaiianized", I had great expectations for what was to come. This collection of classics more than exceeded anything I could have hoped for. The songs are impeccably recorded and the performances are filled with soul and aloha. Best of all, the music carries the listener away like a gentle island breeze.
Can't get to the islands for a while? Do the next best thing -- get "Hawaiianized"!

Pamela Polland's new EP Hawaiianized is a revelation. Those of you who remember her earlier works will be thrilled to learn that her fantastic voice (and her ability to make you feel she is singing to you alone) remains intact on this set of classics given a particularly Kama'aina twist.
Pamela's versions of Somewhere Over the Rainbow are very different from the other famous Hawai'ian version (by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole) but are nevertheless intimate and charming. Similarly, her takes on You Are So Beautiful, Stand By Me and Here Comes the Sun evoke a nostalgia for a simpler, more carefree time, and are warm, welcoming and appealing.
A triumph by a musical maestro. Pamela, Mahalo to you.
