Album Review
The liner notes to Capitol's 20-track retrospective of rock goddess Pat Benatar's golden years are filled with testimonials from some of the genre's queens, both reigning (Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos) and retired (Jane Wiedlin, Martha Davis). It's a fitting tribute to the artist, as her four-and-a-half-octave vocal range spewing arena-sized anthems has yet to be matched by anyone with as much rock & roll panache. "We Belong," "Shadows of the Night," "Promises in the Dark," and "Love Is a Battlefield" are all certifiable '80s classics — not just guilty pleasures — and even later semi-hits like "Sex as a Weapon" and "All Fired Up" don't sound as overwrought as one would imagine, having not heard them in some time. Greatest Hits is just five songs longer than 1989's Best Shots — reissued in 2003 with an accompanying DVD — but the inclusion of fan favorites such as "Little Too Late" and "Le Bel Age" make this collection the most effective to date. Fair is fair.

by Bacon boy rocksI love Pat Benetar. So many of her songs are classics now-a-day's. She has real talent unlike many artists today. Now all you need is special effects, a nice body, and a friend in the biz. I really, really, REALLY like Pat. The funny thing is that Pat was a superstar in the 80's and she is still a superstar today (Just older).

Heartbreaker 10/10 This is one of my favorite of Pat's songs. She sounds so hard-core and so soft at the same time. She sounds so mature, like I'm-gonna-beat-you-up-because-you-broke-my-heart mature.
We Live For Love 9/10 This is another good song but in parts she just sounds wierd. In some parts of this song her voice is really high and it is just a bit to much for me. I like the rest though.
Hit Me With Your Best Shot 10/10 CLASSIC!!!! This is my anthem at the moment. She sounds so cool in this song. The only downer is that she is screaming in some part's of the song. So it's a little loud in some parts of the song.
Hell Is For Children 8/10 It's a very pretty song. I like how it's slow the whole song and then in the chorus she rocks out. So it's a combonation of sweet and of hard-core rock!!!!!
Treat Me Right 10/10 Hot, Hot, Hot. This song is frieking awsome!! In this song she is saying if you don't treat me right i'll leave. She is such a beautiful singer and this song really show's her talent. This is another one of my favorites.
You Better Run 8/10 I'm just not feeling this song. It's cool like all of Pat's songs but this one isn't the most original. It's a great song overall.
Fire and Ice 10/10 One of my favorite's on this record. She sounds really awsome. The only downer is that there is to much music and not enough of Pat's singing.
Promises In The Dark 8/10 Her voice sounds really slow and touched up, witch doesn't sounds great for Pat. Then you hit the chorus and you're like were did that come from?!?!?!
Precious Time 10/10 This is another one of my favorites. She sounds so goo-ood. She holds her voice for awhile witch shows more talent. The only downer is the song drags on a bit but Pat fills in most of it.
Shadows Of The Night 9/10 In some of the song her voice sounds very wierd like it's been adjusted in the studio alot. Then you hit the chorus and your whole opionion of the song changes.
Little Too Late 10/10 This is one of my favorite songs off the album. She sounds frieking amazing. She is such a rocker chick!!!!!!!!!!
Looking for a Stranger This is a different sound from the rest of the album. It sounds a bit more old like 50's or 60's. I really like the kind of jazz sound she adds.
Love Is a Battlefield 10/10 AHHH CLASSIC!!!!!!!!! This my all time favorite Pat song. She sounds sooooo beuatiful, and pretty. She put a new spin on the classic breakup song. It is soo original. Too bad Jordin Sparks had to copy it. UHHH!!!!!!! C'mon Jordin.
We Belong 9/10 This is another classic. I really like this song alot. The only downer is I don't like the background music it's a bit to loud and off for me.
Oooh Ooh Song 8/10 This is a really fun song. It sounds like the perfrect music for a car chase. The song is kind of pointless though. Oooh Oooh, really?!?!? Also there is a bit to much ooh ooh and not enough real speaking.
Invincible 10/10 Another of my favorites. It's such a solid song. It couldn't be broken down. It's just really,really hot!!!!!!!!! It's a fun song that makes you want to move.
Sex As a Weapon 10/10 I love this song. She sounds so upbeat and cool but adds a hard-core solid sound. She sounds very cool like I don't care, i've got a weapon. It's my sex.
Le Bel Age 10/10 This ia another one of my favorites. She sounds so good like special effects have been added but not to much. So you can still hear my voice. A perfect combination.
All Fired Up 10/10 This is probably the best dance song on the whole album. This might even be my favorite. This song has such attitude in it. I love it.
One Love (Song of the Lion) 7/10 This is a very nice slow song. Its also a bit rockish but keeps the mellow sound the whole way through. This is probablly my least favorite of the album.
I really love this Greatest Hits album. It shows the slow and fast side of Pat. Pat is so talented and this album really show's it!!!!!!!! GO PAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing artist
by queenelizabeth1Pat Benatar is such a talented artist, and she has the most wonderful voice. I love all of her music, but "Shadows of the Night" is my all-time favorite song. "We Belong" and "Heartbreaker" are also very good. Her music is incredibly beautiful and powerful, so buy these songs immediately and experience them for yourself!
