Golden slumbers
An expert study in ambient subtlety, Wedge's debut album, Heavensville, traverses epic distances in even its smallest gestures. Fans of Sigur Ros, Air, Doves and Radiohead will appreciate this collection of gorgeous, melancholy eletronica tunes, which match Wedge's aching keen with an assortment of blissed-out sounds, both organic and synthetic. Start with "The Architect" -- a nearly eight-minute piano- and falsettp-driven number that is the album's crowning achievement -- but don't stop there. "Jupiter," "It's All In Your Head" and the instrumental "The Stars Will Explode In The Sky" make the perfect soundtrack for sleeping, snogging and sobbing, in equal measure.
Heavensville
Pleasing,sweet, dreamy album. Another jewel from the classic city. A fine debut from a promising artist. Will listen to this one again and again. The Architect draws you in and takes you on a wonderful journey and is followed by many creative, ambient adventures that reveal new surprises with each listen.I am very pleased with this album and look forward to the next effort.
The best thing out of Athens...EVER!
Orgasmic. Brutal. Complex. Honest. Vexing. Perfect (well as close as you can get.) Turning on this album transports you to a world of rich tones and alien ambient noise. You are pulled into the ethereal musings of a seriously passionate musician. His yearning is universal and paralleled in his music. It's a delicate balance between traditional song and out of the box music creation. It's hard to imagine that this was all thanks to one person in a small room in Athens, GA. Thank god for this artist. He is able recreate the specific emotion that on one can vocalize and no one believes anyone could ever feel the same way. It will allow you the release you need to let go of your self and connect to this enigmatic feeling in a way you never have and probably never will again. This music may not be for everyone…but it should be.
