Album Review
Heavy Hitz is a near-definitive overview of Heavy D & the Boyz' pop-friendly dance-rap style, featuring not only the group's two big hits — "We Got Our Own Thang" and the Top Ten "Now That We Found Love" — but 13 more of their best tracks as well. And that's not as excessive as it might sound to casual observers; Heavy D had not only a good-natured persona and sense of humor, but also a deceptively nimble delivery on the mic, which helps enliven these already infectious party tunes. Heavy D also had a socially conscious side, recording the occasional ode to harmony between genders and races, but that isn't explored very much here; nonetheless, Heavy Hitz will likely be perfectly satisfactory for most listeners.

Heavy, you will be missed. My heart goes out to your family. You paved the way for so many artists. You were the rapper that even my parents loved. I had to close the bedroom door to listen to Eazy E, but YOU I was allowed to blast. I love you. Rest with the angels.
Heavy Hitz
This brother has surpassed most MC with his lyrical wit and the flow that was impectable. He is talented not only in verse but a great actor to boot. He allowed you to love, laugh and be in the same room with him as he told you a story. Rap music is missing that type of flow being able to express your feeling and telling a funny or emotional story with some beats that keep your MP3 or repeat to learn it word for word. I love my Black Coffee hit for he knows how to make a black woman feel special. This is one sexy brother that got it going on. He is not Heavy in stature any more but heavily etched in my mind,heart, and talent in my book.
