Album Review
Hedwig & the Angry Inch was considered something revelatory in the 1997-1998 theater season. An off-Broadway show in the guise of a rock concert, Hedwig won the Outer Critics Circle Award for best off-Broadway musical. It's no surprise — Hedwig & the Angry Inch is certainly unlike any other musical of its time, including such other "rock operas" like Rent and the Who's Tommy. This tale of a German transsexual rock star with fading fame unravels as stories between songs in a concert. It utterly fascinating, with a far more punk aesthetic than one would associate with a musical. A truly inventive and amazing creation worth hearing.

The Definitive Hedwig
Lots of people buy the movie soundtrack of this amazing musical, when the movie itself was shabby compared to the musical. This is a true rock musical. In this album you will find more emotion than you knew existed. And everyone who calls this musical a "gay musical" is an idiot". If you look beyond the surface it is just about finding yourself and who you are.
