hey, i like this...
so I was doing my radio show on the Beloit college radio station and we are all required to play four songs off the 'new music' rack every show. I always grab random cd's that have aesthetically pleasing covers, and this one caught my eye. I played the song' Divorce' and I was pleasingly surprised at how good it was. I then preceded to upload the whole cd on my computer and found it to be great. The songs are all really catchy, and the lyrics are sarcastic and at times depressing, but its a nice contradiction and/or contrast.
Pleasingly potent!
In todays music scene we are bludgeoned over the head with cookie cutter songs all written about the same topic. Every once in a while (not soon enough it seems) a band catches your ear and for a short time everything seems just ok... Fox Japan is one of those bands. From the start of the album, all the way to the last note, "Hell" delivers biting, often humorous and politically topical lyrics that are sure to please music connoisseurs and passing listeners alike. Once you strike play on the musical device of your choice and depart on your amazing journey through musical heaven , be prepared to sing these catchy songs for weeks on end. Prodigious job sirs.
Fox Japan? Please, no more!
I understand the mainstream sound can blend from one group to the next but that doesn't mean we lower our standards and settle for this. There is some difference in sound from their first album and it doesn't get better but much much worse. No more music, please stop.
