Coast to Coast
When you live in New York it's easy to forget the rest of the world exists. But when New Yorkers get tired of the sex and the city, they go west. Cali is more than good weather, good produce and Hollywood glam- it's a different way of life. Hello California is an upbeat pop anthem for a hip New Yorker's rose-colored viewpoint of the left coast. It's a fun musical narrative, and the remixes showcase this. The grinding beats of the Quadrat mix put the listener in a white hot LA Club: your limo is waiting! The Saint Victim Remix shifts you to a funky lounge in Berkeley- heads bobbing while you talk about the politician you saw wearing a leather harness at the Folsom Street Fair. The radio edit is the quirky great grandchild of that gamine scene where the cast of I Love Lucy finally arrives in the sunshine state, updated for the post-Bush era. Happy pop, with edge to spare! Coast to coast, worldwide.
Salme's not slowing down...
anytime soon. This set of remixes is especially special to me. HC was the song of Salme's that got me stuck on her...about 3 or 4 years ago. One of her best songs in my opinion...these remixes retain the great originality Salme put into the original track, but so unique and different from one another each one offers something different. The Quadrat Beat Mix...is hands down the most club jumping one of the three and the one you'll probably find yourself listening to the most at first. For 3.00...I say pick up this EP...it's very well done and mixed to perfection.
