Album Review

Bob enlists George Winston and others to faithfully re-create the 78-rpm era, focusing on early-jazz standards, hokum and blues.

EXCELLENT! Brozman's finest hour

To listen to the album in it's entirety is like hopping on a tram and taking a sonic tour of American music of the 1920's and 30's. "The Lonesome Road" is exceptional and this version of "Mysterious Mose" with it's Sleepy Hollow-esque backing vocals even comes as close to perfection as the R. Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders version Brozman played on in the seventies. Possibly the most enjoyable album I have ever heard. -D. Christie

The Amazing Brozman Astonishes Again!

Bob's work is always incredible and a joy to listen to, and this album is certainly not an exception. Sister Kate and 12th Street Rag are my favorites on this disc and are a must-buy. If you're new to listening to Brozman's work, this is the best of his work to start off with if you're more into listening to old-time jazz/rags, but you might want to look at a different album of his (such as "Devil's Slide") if you're more into blues.
