Radiohead And Everything After...
Radiohead in iTunes at last!! Not really. But this album is just as good. Anchored a Radiohead and Coldplay, everything else in between is more than just filler content. Each band was asked to record a brand new track--no remixes, no b-sides, no 'versions'--for the project, and did so in 24 hours bridging the 8th and 9th September. Funds raised by the charity's deal with Independiente Records will immediately go to their projects in Iraq and DR Congo. So it is fair to say that there are no losers when you buy this album. Other songs to consider downloading are The Present (Bloc Party), I Heard It Through The Grapevine (Kaiser Chiefs), and The 8th Station Of The Cros Kebab House (Belle And Sebastian).
The Gorillaz track RULES!
How did that 1st reviewer miss this track! It's the best one on the album! ...and it's 7 minutes long!!!
Great album, for a great cuase
This simply is the best compilation of 2005 in my opinion. No doubts at all about that. Great bands, with original works, that in some cases, outdo their commercial works. The best example is Wasteland from Maximo Park which is absolutely brilliant. Another is The Gorillaz' Hong Kong which includes a chinese sounding guitar and play out like a ballad. Of course there are also good works from Coldplay, Bloc Party, The Magic Numbers, and Razorlight. I purchased this album because I was curious, and also because it benifts the Warchild Charity. I highly reccomend this album!
