And Along comes Aloha
The first time I heard Aloha was 'Leap of Faith' from That's Your Fire and I was immediately intrigued and somewhat blown away that a rock band would slip back and forth from a power balad into some mutated form of BeBop. The rest of the album is somewhat of a chore of a listen, to say the least. However, due to the initital afore mentioned reaction, I've done my best to keep up with Aloha, almost like they were my own private little band. With the release of Sugar, I became more and more facinated with the band's direction towards experimentation with synth, ep, more percussion, etc...but all the while sharpening an already unique song writing ability. I knew this talented group of multi-instrumentalist were on to something, and waited unpatiently with delight for their next installment. So 'Here Comes Everyone', and the morph is complete. Not to say that Aloha will not continue to redefine themselves with each new release, which they undoubtedly will, but here they have given us a beautiful tapestry of post modern rock with all the correct nods at those who have come before. This album is complex, vast and ecclectic all at the same time, but never loosing amazing melodies that will assuredly find their way into your subconcious, there only to enrich your musical life. Enjoy.
Unbelievely Talented
Every second and every individual beat on this album was planned out to perfection. Here are some of the best musicians out today, and somehow they can produce catchy lyrics and vocals on top of incredible rythms and off-beats. Better yet, they perform each song to perfection in their live shows. Buy this album!
very solid album
