Album Review

There's nothing wrong with Graham Colton's Here Right Now, but that's part of the problem. There may be no grand missteps here, but there doesn't seem to be any attempt at experimentation or risk-taking; it's strictly middle of the road, standard pop that sounds pretty but doesn't have much to offer beneath its pretty, polished exterior. This isn't bad, by any means — it's good for background music or light listening for the teen set — but those who wish to be engaged by an album will find that there is a decided lack of punch or bite on Here Right Now, a shallowness that is evident even combine with Colton's fine voice and the dedicated work of his backing band. Most of the songs on Here Right Now deal with love in some capacity — love lost, love found, love renewed and so on. However, they all seem to deal with the subject with an innocence that seems tailored to the previously mentioned teen demographic. It's charming, in a way, but lacking in the depth of emotion or passion that real experience brings. It isn't until nearly halfway through the album that there is a standout tune, the dance rock-infused "Always in Love," which is catchy, if not particularly memorable.

graham does it again

"here right now" is a respectable showing from an artist whom i have loved for many years no. unfortunately, i feel without the added talents of his (former) band, the cd seems a little repetitive and not nearly as creative or beautiful as, say, his first cd. give all of his cds a listen before you decide - i would not say this is his best work. however, i'm excited to see him back.

Long time waiting...

after a few years, Graham Colton is back, minus the BAND. on his new album the songs seem a little more personal and a little more raw! the songs really rock! ALL of them, which is hard to find these days in an album. But maybe i'm partial, i fell in love with him back in 05' when he toured with Kelly Clarkson! and it doesn't hurt that he's so HOT~

Graham Colton

I first found out about Graham when his single "Best Days" Was the free single on iTunes. I listened to the song right after it had downloaded, and I started to like it more and more each time I played it on my iTunes player. He is now one of my top 5 artists because his music is real, beautiful, well put-together, and well, worth the money. :] Haha. One thing though that I notice is that in most of his songs, he has this one repetitive guitar rhythym. I'm going to Best Buy to buy this CD now because I like all the songs. :B I would listen to every track on here because they are all worth the money.
