Big, Bold and Beautiful
The 2nd Album in their Future Trilogy (following 2007's Survivors from the Future), Here to Take You Back is the most diverse album yet by Rad Scientists and it also continues to blur the line between this and Reingold and Good's other, much more analog project, Summer Coat, by mixing the electronic and analog elements closer together. But make no mistake, this is still a Rad Scientists album in every sense of the word, from the old school synth lines to the vague lyrics that hint again that Rad Scientists are here on a mission. It's also a lot bigger in atmosphere than anything since "Holy Fi" off their out of print "This is Musical Radiation" album, with several songs featuring large choruses and full feaux orchestras. A welcome addition to the catalog.
