Best release of 2007.
With their 2nd full-length album, The Eames Era have mastered the music they are so very well prepared to make. "Heroes and Sheroes" will hopefully be the album that catapolts the band into the spotlight. Ashlin Phillips' vocals are as unique as they are enchanting. Her voice, if I may do the whole "If _______ and _______ had a lovechild..." scenario, ...if Jenny Lewis and Liz Phair had a lovechild, Ashlin Phillips would be it. There's just something about it that gives it the extra-special this voice has got talent ring. Back that up with the rest of the band members, and you've got yourself one band that knows how to make you want to get up and dance.
Solid Sophomore Album
Overall, I don't think this is as strong an album as the every-song-is-superb Double Dutch, as I could do w/o some of the shorter songs that sound like they are unfinished and/or just undeveloped ideas. But "Watson on Your Side," "Fake Do-Gooders," and "Both Hands Full" are as good as anything on Double Dutch and it's good to see the band trying out new things with some of the other songs even if they are not quite polished as they could be.

Eames is my favorite new discovery. Download "Watson On Your Side." This by far their best album to date.
