Album Review
The passionate college rock of O.A.R. gets its first live showcase on Any Time Now, the two-CD album recorded in Washington, D.C., during the promotion of 2001's Risen. The band sounds great on the 17 tracks found here, playing their high-energy rock with a power that only young bands can really manage to muster. The only problem with the album is that it is truly for dedicated fans, as the lengthy songs tend to blur together and the live approach simply does not complement some of these tracks. Without their strong energy level, this album would be pretty dull, but they manage to squeeze as much out of the songs as they can. O.A.R. continues to develop, but at this point in their career there isn't much of a need for a live album. They have the power, but they still don't quite have the variety of songs to make a big project like this work. Still, fans should eat this right up as everything is done to the hilt, from the extended versions of the tracks to the visceral performance style of the band. But those unfamiliar with the music should be warned that this is definitely not the album to start a collection with.

Artistic
by Yellows Golds and RedsI would disagree strongly with the reviewer of this album. I realize that reviewers are supposed to state powerful opinions, but "this is definitely not the album to start a collection with" is definitely not the phrase to start your opinion of this album with. The performance of O.A.R live truly embodies the power of emotion in music, and as soon as you compare this to any of their studio albums, you will realize that THIS is the music of O.A.R, and in fact trumps the studio recordings of any of the original songs, a feat almost impossible for most artists. My advice -- listen to a few, see what you think, then make a decision on a purchase or not. But whatever you do, at least know that the reviewer of this album is only stating a single opinion, one that I, among many others, are not in accordance with.
Great album, misleading review
by Bob Marley154This is the album I started my OAR collection with, and i must say it is, in my opinion, the best album of theirs to date. But if course, the direction the band is headed right now, it will stay their best album. So itunes you should not be so quick to label the lack of variety in this album as an album for truely dedicated fans and no one else. You also shouldnt call it an album you shouldnt begin with. In fact i recommend you start with this album, and that you steer clear of the over publicized newer albums.
If it doesn't speak to you, listen harder
by rocknroll899O.A.R. literally is the sound track to my life, but one song really stands out to me every single time I hear it, and that is "I Feel Home," it is probably the best song I have ever heard, and listening along to the lyrics, I can see scenes of my life playing.
