Definitely Different
Hidden Away is definitely something new and different for Josh Groban. I'm a fan, and always will be of Josh Groban. It's interesting, though, to compare this song to his older music. Anyone who pays enough attention would realize that he's done so much singing in between, that the quality of his voice is different now too. I guess that's the unfortunate part when someone goes big. What makes Groban so much different from other artists is not only his training and ability to actually sing well and correctly, but also that he writes all his music. And no, I'm not talking about co-writing the lyrics with 3 other big heads in the business. I'm actually talking about the chords--the actual music, not just a few notes or a melody or a chorus, but the chord progressions.
So I'll give Hidden Away 5 stars for its uniqueness and Groban's choice to reinvent himself and sing something not per his usual.
A Work of Art
Hidden Away is just perfectly and utterly flawless. So raw in emotion and passion... Josh Groban is the next Paul Simon, surely, and Hidden Away shows us that!
This song is perfect from the voice, down to the piano, the guitars, and the string arrangement. Well done! Very well done!

Making my heart overflow
I have been a die hard Grobanite for years and I'm only 16 now! And when I heard this song for the first time, my heart was so full, it spilled on to my face. It was so worth all the waiting we have done for the last 4 years. And I am confident that the rest of "Illuminations" will be just a superb as this first taste. Well done, Josh! You made us proud!!!
