This band is Incredible, Live and on CD

I can only reiterate what so many others are saying. Especially, how was this band able to slip by me for so long. I saw Blue October in July 2006 at the House of Blues in Orlando, I only knew the album Foiled for a few weeks. Justin came out with a bum knee, and on crutches. I had never seen their videos, and had no idea what to expect, first song starts I leaned to my wife and said "this guy is kindda melodramatic" Well half way through that first song I was like this guy is incredible, he is actually screaming in key, his lyrics are haunting and I didn't care how melodramatic he was. Oh and that blown out knee...he had to be on pain killers but his energy was incredible. A true testament to how good a band is to me, is when they sound as good live as they do on CD, these guys were unbelievably great. Especially for anyone who has been to H.O.B. in Orlando knows the sound is not so good in there. So, I come home blown away, and I have seen a LOT of live bands, I get all their albums, and needless to say, I can not get these songs out of my head. The lyrics, instrumentation, and timing is incredible. Try singing along...keeping in time with Justin is tough, which equals genius to me. History for Sale, Foiled, and the live double CD Argue with a Tree are a must haves, Consent to Treatment and The Answers are earlier works and you can hear how much more intricate the music has become, but they are still very solid. This is the first review I have EVER written, and I find myself wanting everyone I know to be aware, and listen to these guys. I believe this band is ready to blow up!! I compare them to a mix of R.E.M., Third Eye Blind, The Cure, and Foo Fighters, now how is that for a rock n' roll band. Foo Fighters are my favorite band of all time, but one more live show and another album like the last 3 and....well....sorry Dave it was a good 10 years.

AMAZING...but missing just that

Don't get me wrong, this is a jewel in Blue October's musical masterpieces, but iTunes has lost one song in the mix of things!! They are missing the last track, Amazing!! What happened!?!

One of Blue October's best

i have nearly every blue october album, with the exception of their second, "Consent to Treatment," and let me tell you not a single one has let me down yet. this album is one of their best to date, with many exceptional songs on it, i never get tired of listening to it. there is one thing missing from this digital itunes version, though, the final song Amazing. what happened? you should, instead, buy it from the online store at blueoctober.com... i've had the privelige of seeing blue october live twice, and they're AMAZING live performers. overall a great album. you won't be wasting your money. Ugly Side- a great song, a good opener and enchanting words. Clumsy Card House- a strange song but a good one, a favorite of mine. it takes a few listens but you'll get into it Razorblade- ahh very good song, very emotional and hard-hitting. Calling You- a beautiful piece, surprisingly enough, and veerrry catchy. Chameleon Boy- not a favorite of mine but it's okay, that's just my opinion. Sexual Power Trip- hehe a favorite, catchy, it'll get stuck in your head, trust me. A Quiet Mind- a pretty song. 3 Weeks, She Sleeps- a slow song, pretty, good to listen to when you're tired hahah Inner Glow- a nice little piece, a bringer-upper that tells you to live life to its fullest i spose Somebody- a harder song, a definite rock song with a cuss word in its chorus. that tells you something. i love this song. Come in Closer- a creepy, pretty song. don't listen to it at night with the lights turned out.

The Texas quintet Blue October formed during the post-grunge boom of the mid-'90s, when vocalist/guitarist Justin Furstenfeld began penning angst-ridden rock songs with the help of his brother, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, and violinist Ryan Delahoussaye.
