OMD Still Rcks
I saw OMD last night at the 9:30 club in Washington DC. They remain simply great. They are vibrant and fun and it was lovely to hear some of the new music live. I'm not a music critic, just a fan but it is hard not to enjoy them. Though I had not heard their new music before I went to the concert hearing their new music live sent me here to buy the songs. Particularly History of Modern Pt 1 and Rogers Remix. Thanks OMD, DC loved you. You still got it.

A slew of great xtra tracks!
The remixes here are pretty much the standard dance remix fare (come on OMD, get some cutting edge remixers to play with your stuff - the godfathers of techno deserve nothing less) but the real treat here are the four (that's right, 1+1+1+1=4) non-LP songs! And they're all worthwhile. "Alone" is a ok, but the other three are pure OMD melodramatic genius. I especially like the nearly experimental flavor of "The Grand Deception," it reminds me of the extra track "Raving on the Seven Seas" from the Sugar Tax era. I'd love to see OMD surprise us with an album of this type - come on guys, admit it - pop songs are fun but you KNOW you want to flex your electronic chops and really dig in with something innovative. Do it! And tell Moby he owes his career to you.
Oh and a note to the other reviewers: this space is reserved for reviewing THIS RECORD, not for random concert reviews. If you want to tell the world how much you loved OMD live, at least do it in the review section for their live album. Brains: activate!
Atlanta Show - OMG
Wow. I saw them in Atlanta and was amazed how great they are live. The crowd was is a state of shock during and after the show. These guys definitely still got it! THX
