Album Review
It's hard to believe that it's been nearly three decades since a former Montrose keyboardist and guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne's band formed Night Ranger. To celebrate the pop-metal group's silver anniversary, Hits, Acoustic and Rarities is an alternative look at some of the group's best songs. "Sister Christian" pops up here twice, once as a re-recording and again in acoustic form. Other favorites such as "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" (which also appears twice in various forms), "(You Can Still) Rock in America," and "Sentimental Street" are also included. However, most notably absent from the session is the band's '80s feel-good pop anthem "The Secret of My Success," the theme song from the movie of the same name starring Michael J. Fox and Helen Slater. Aside from this woeful omission, Hits, Acoustic and Rarities is a nice package for fans who want to hear the band performing its best moments in alternate forms.

by ledboya great collection of songs. Night Ranger were in my opinion ahead of there time as far as rippin guitar riffs. They were doin it in 82..way before hair bands caught on. Check em out live if you get a chance.
All this stared in a garage somwhere
by Music store guyI own and operate a musical instrument retail store. We have a sign on the wall in our electric guitar demo room that states "No Avenged Seven Fold or Stairway To Heaven." Take what you want from from 7 guys who listen to people who try to emulate those extremes of the spectrum, for themselves or for you know who you are. The single best thing for us to HEAR is truly great songs performed with the best or newest tone available. ( Guitar players are always looking for not just better tone, but the best tone.) Mom who has a Night Ranger shirt in your undy drawer this Albulm represents what all "Classic Rock" Bands should offer to both their long time emulators and the kid who's Mom just got them an electric guitar from Wal-Mart.

If not good it has to be Great
by Follower Of EtnaNight Ranger has proved once and for all a Great song is still a great song. Be it heavy 80s hair rock or the slong stilted songs that can be done on a accustic guitar. Songs like Goodbye tug even harder without all the hard hitting riffs. And Sentimental street now realy feels more Sentimental. It is great to see that after 20+ years on the shelf these songs can still sell.
