Great Album, minor flaws
I have to give this album 4 stars, but overall it is very good. The reason for the 4 stars are things i would not expect from this ensemble or conductor. There were some rhythmic issues in the low brass in Rocky Point (I am a tuba player; go figure), mainly with sync in the rhythmic syncopated figures. There were also some tempo/phasing issues in either Lauds or Courtly Airs, I don't have my iPod handy, but only for a few measures. Any other issues were due to short sections of balance or blend phasing, but not in any particular section. Again, these criticisms are here just because I didn't expect these issues to be on this recording. The Passacaglia is wonderful and the opening of Sonoran is... wow! I am assuming it was recorded at the Meyerson; the DWS and Dr. Junkin are right at home here. Finally, Aspen Jubilee was part of a marching band show I was in in 1993 and it brough back some good memories :)

I love that song!! It's beautiful in some parts and lively in others. Well written!

This is definatly my favorite song on the album. It kicks some serious booty.
